SD. Yukta Bichala received the DCOM Summer Research Award for her proposal “Impacts of Semaglutide on Monocyte–Endothelial Crosstalk in Atherosclerosis Pathophysiology.” This project contributes to the lab’s ongoing work in vascular inflammation and GLP-1 receptor biology.
Project 3 (Semaglutide and Atherosclerosis Study) will be conducted at the Knoxville laboratory in collaboration with Dr. Lindsey Miller. This study focuses on endothelial–monocyte interactions in vascular inflammation.
The abstract for Project 2 (Semaglutide and Drug–Drug Interactions Study) was accepted at a Keystone Symposium and presented as a poster, highlighting emerging (in-silico) findings on CYP450 enzyme modulation.

A Material Transfer Agreement (MTA) has been established between Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) and the University of Tennessee, enabling access to human blood specimens for Project 1 (Doxorubicin-Induced Vascular Toxicity Study). This collaboration strengthens the translational foundation of the project.
